Small-Group Discussion Guides
At the heart of The Peace in the Storm Project, faith-sharing, theologically sound Discussion Groups offer caregivers and people living with health challenges the opportunity to grow in faith, knowledge of scripture, and understanding in their spirituality. Guides follow the themes in Peace in the Storm: Meditations on Chronic Pain and Illness, Peace in the Storm for Caregivers and Beyond Pain: Job, Jesus, and Joy Revised Edition and the Roman Catholic Church liturgical calendar.

Webinars
The Peace in the Storm Project offers an Introductory Webinar that gives context to the presence of family caregivers and chronic pain and illness in parish communities and explains how the ministry can help parishes serve their parishioners and others who have questions of faith in the midst of their suffering. This Webinar is live and free of charge, providing the opportunity for Q&A and prayer.

Other webinars and retreats are available for a nominal fee. Topics for these webinars include the Spirituality of Caregiving and Alzheimer's disease, Liturgy and Chronic Illness, Theology of Aging and a Pastoral Response, and Everyone is Welcome: Understanding Disability and Chronic Illness and Pain in Parish Life
Online or In-Person Workshops, and Training
Regular, monthly, online meetings with leaders from The Peace in the Storm Project help build fellowship across the broadly diverse and growing number of groups forming across the United States. Workshops tailored to specific groups and training, either one-on-one or in small groups, are also available on an as-requested basis for a nominal fee.

Prayer Requests
Prayer is an integral part of a life of faith and a focus of the faith formation groups supported by The Peace in the Storm Project. If you have a prayer intention, or would just like to be remembered in prayer, we invite you to contact us by clicking the button, below. We will pray for your intentions each month at our group facilitator meeting and on the first Monday of each month, Father Dan Carson, Pastor at St. Peter's on Capitol Hill, will offer Mass for our ministry and your intentions. May our Lord bless you and bring you great comfort and peace.
Special Resources for Special Occasions Throughout the Year
We take the guesswork out of what a parish can do to raise awareness about and accompany caregivers and persons living with disabilities, chronic conditions, and other difficult challenges. Our small booklets for World Day of the Sick, Alzheimer's Awareness Month, and Caregiver Appreciation Month are only a few of the resources The Peace in the Storm Project makes available to parishes - for free! Click below for our downloadable booklet for World Day of the Sick 2026
To share the booklet in your parish, print the pdf and cut it horizontally (across the width). You will have two booklets. Fold the two booklets in half. The inside will be blank--write prayer intentions for people you know who are ill and remember them throughout the month. World Day of the Sick is February 11, 2026..
