Mission and Meaning

The Peace in the Storm Project understands that caregiving and life with chronic illness and ongoing pain are some of the toughest journeys any of us will every embark upon.  Yet, they also present wonderful opportunities for light, service, and spiritual growth, and they are made joy-filled and loving through fellowship, a close relationship with Jesus, and participation in the Church.

Wherever you are in your journey as a caregiver of a loved one or as someone with serious health challenges or disability,  we invite you to get to know us and the spiritual support we offer parishes and individuals.

You are not alone!

Our Mission

The Peace in the Storm Project seeks to eliminate the isolation from parish life and disconnect from God often experienced by caregivers and persons with chronic illness, ongoing pain, disability, and other life challenges . We are committed to helping  people deepen faith and  find fellowship  in and through the difficult journeys they are on and to building up parish communities where all participate and all rejoice.

Vision

We envision our ministry to be the key resource for parishes and individuals to find spiritually and theologically sound resources to support them in navigating some of life's toughest places--in and through challenges, pain, and suffering. We understand that God can cure at any time, yet we cannot expect nor can we force God's hand in that regard.  However, each of us is called to be healed -- to be brought closer to God and to be comforted, uplifted and filled with "peace beyond all understanding." It is in this spirit (and the Spirit) that we serve.
