Prayer of Gratitude
by Someone with Chronic Illness
Dear Jesus, I am so grateful that you love me.
Although my journey with chronic illness is hard
and my life seems to be a never-ending series of
challenges,
Your comfort gives me peace.
Your grace gives me joy.
Your Word gives me courage.
When others do not understand, I know that you do.
And when I cannot do the things I used to be able to do,
You give me fresh opportunities
to praise you,
to witness to your Word,
to pray.
For your love,
for the beautiful people you bring into my life,
for this life itself,
I thank you.
And I ask that you give me wisdom
to continue to praise and witness, pray and give thanks,
to love as you have loved me,
all of my days.
Amen.

Prayer for Caregivers
You, Caregiver, Are Someone Special!
You have answered God's call.
You are loyal in the face of challenges.
You are stronger than anyone gives you credit for being--except God, who knows you completely!

You release love so that it can move and flow and be light throughout the world.

And by your caregiving, you inspire others to know Christ and believe.

Each morning, may you wake with joy, knowing you are supported by prayer and appreciation from the Universal Church, your neighbors, family, and friends, and your loved one for whom you care.

Each afternoon, may you feel Jesus' presence and the Blessed Mother's support--and the choir of Saints who know what it is to care, too, and who are there to inspire you.

And each evening...

May you be comforted with abiding peace, amazing grace, and faith ever stronger, knowing that your life is precious, your care is a blessing, and your loved is returned by our God, who smiles on you for all you do and all you are.

Amen.

Prayer for Peace in Pain
O Lord, help me to feel your calming hand upon me
when I am in pain.
Let your ever-loving comfort enfold me,
And give me the heart to see
that in my suffering I am becoming
closer to you...
and more divine.
